The protests took more than hundred lives in 2014 and led to the election of the new Europe-oriented government. Some of the former high officials are now hiding in Russia. Yanukovich confessed in his interview that Russian security services on the decision of Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, helped him get escape from the country.

I am very thankful to him for saving my life

– said Yanukovich.

Yanukovich also accused the current government of Ukraine in the war on the East of Ukraine. The ex-president even blamed them of involving other countries into the conflict that took lives of nearly 7,000 people and made millions of people abandon their homes and move to the safest cities.

But Yanukovich wasn’t himself if he didn’t say something bizarre during public speech. This time he defended his mansion that is now turned into a museum. He said that the furniture in the mansion didn’t belong to him and the ostriches on the mansion’s territory simply were there.
