Elephant run away from a circus in southwest German. The animal killed a 65-year-old pensioner, who was on his morning walk in the wood.

A 34-year-old Baby, that is a name of elephant-killer, trampled the unnamed pensioner to death, while he was walking through the woods near Buchen in the morning. Pensioner was killed instantly, according to the police.

Later the female African animal was caught and immediately returned to the circus.

According to Yvonne Schmierer a spokesperson for Heidelberg police, the investigation was launched. Police currently make inquiries in order to detect whether the animal run away by itself or it was deliberately let out of her enclosure.

There’s evidence of third party involvement. Either someone forgot to shut the enclosure, or the elephant was released intentionally.

– stated Schmierer.

According to the German news agency, Baby has already had some incidents during her life when the people were injured by that animal.

In the fall 2012 in Burladingen Baby broke a jaw of 12-year-old boy after strucking him with a trunk at city circus. Two years earlier that case, the same elephant seriously injured a man in Leutkirch. She simply thrown him in the air.

Authorities said that circus has to take Baby away from people as she can cause harm to their health.
