Usually North Korea authorities do not give interviews, but one of the major authorities in North Korea that is connected to the highest persons in the country’s government, Park Yong Chol, agreed to say a few words about North Korea and further plans of the country. He explained that one of the main reasons why they don’t like giving interviews to international media is that they report gossips and untrue information about his country.

Park Yong Chol said that recent news about their prime leader, Kim Jong Un, executing 15 of their major officials were evil defamations, and some executions really took place in the country recently. But, according to Mr Chol, those people were traitors that tried to overthrow the government and it is normal for every country to punish its enemies.

Another thrilling question was about the recent facts about rights abuses in North Korea and especially about the network of so-called ‘prison camps’. Mr Chol said that when talking about human rights in his country, they should take a look at human rights in the US as well, because he doesn’t agree with the methods that are used in the US justice system. He confirmed that there were special correction centers for criminals in North Korea, but he denied the existence of prison camps and added that rumors about these non-existent objects came from people that ran away from North Korea because of committing a crime on their homeland.

The interviewers also mentioned the nuclear arms theme that worries people from all over the world not for the first year. Mr Chol said that despite all the sanctions that were applied to North Korea earlier, they would still continue to improve their nuclear weapons program. He said that North Korea really possesses enough missile force to strike the US powerfully and would go for it if the US ‘forces them’. Mr Chol also added that North Korean Nuclear Weapons Program costed the country a huge sum of money and it was the right choice, though these resources could have been spent on some other programs such as the improvement of national economy or education.

At last Mr Chol shared the plans of the country for the future. He said they already were a considerable ideological, militarily and politically power. Their next target is to become a major economical power, but to do this, North Korea has to get rid of the sanctions and improve connections with the international community and it’s not clear how to do that right now.
