Hundreds of decomposed bodies were discovered in Nigeria

The past weekend in the streets of the northeastern Nigerian town of Damasak the hundreds of corpses were found buried in a perfunctory graves.

This town not so long ago was captivated by a Boko Haram terror organisation. The authorities visited that region to estimate the amount of distraction and to decide what the effort should be made to help the citizen to return their life before Boko Haram.

Damasak local government announced that during that visit they found shallow tombs with a huge number of dead that were almost fully decomposed. At the same time a lot of corpses were just scattered on the streets and as a result dried by the winds.

The exact number of bodies hasn’t been estimated yet, because it increases every day, but approximately near 400 were recovered. Among them the remains of men, women and children had been found.

The volunteers, that helps the military forces to clean up the streets and the whole area, narrated that since the last month, the number of discovered bodies grew from 90 to more than 400. Nearly 20 swallow graves were excavated and no one knows what will be the number of victims tomorrow.

Military coalition that involves the forces from Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon in a recent month has taken back the great part of Nigerien territory captured by Boko Haram.

This united military operation is the part of the effort to crush the Islamist group, which forces achieved in capturing Niger, Cameroon and Chad.
