The 60-year-old Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who is one of the most richest people in the whole world, claimed he will donate $32 BILLION to charity.

Prince Alwaleed, who is the 34th in the Forbes’ list of the richest people worldwide, stated that his inspiration to donate such a huge sum of money was the Gates Foundation, which was set up in 1997 by Bill and Melinda Gates.

The Gates founder praised Prince’s decision and admitted that it will be the inspiration for all philanthropy workers around the world.

Prince stated that to his mind the $32 bn would

help build bridges to foster cultural understanding, develop communities, empower women, enable youth, provide vital disaster relief and create a more tolerant and accepting world

Prince Alwaleed, who is a head of investment firm Kingdom Holding Company, will donate the money to his charitable organisation, Alwaleed Philantropies. Besides, he has already donated to it around $3.5 billion.

He once stated:

Philanthropy is a personal responsibility, which I embarked upon more than three decades ago and is an intrinsic part of my Islamic faith

Prince announced about his donation, which will be made over several years, just during the holy month of Ramadan. During that month Muslims should give charity and help those, who need it.
