Apple and IBM announced about their plans on Thursday morning. They will create an iPad specially for seniors with adopted user interface and special applications that will help them to communicate with their relatives, monitor their health and get in touch with the medical service, if needed. The program will be launched in Japan together with Japan Post, the life-insurance government company.

The new applications, provided with the iPad, will have special adjustable controls that will make the usage of iPad much easier for senior users. Applications from IBM, together with Apple’s usability features such as large text, Apple Siri and dictation, will allow users to fully experience all advantages of modern technologies.

The head of Apple, Tim Cook, said that one of the main Apple principles is to help people overcome their fears and let them do what everyone around them can do.
