Electric cars are very good. In fact, they are better that usual cars by many characteristics. But they have one great disadvantage that puts a big fat cross on all these advantages: the small energy reserve. An ordinary Tesla car has enough energy to drive about 500 km. and then it needs a recharge. And if you travel a lot in such a car, you have to make regular stops to charge your car. Though the charging stations are located not far enough from each other, the waste of time, spent for the recharge stops drivers from choosing electric cars for long distance trips.

First tests are about to begin this year.

It was also reported that the road will be communicative e.g. it will automatically detect if the vehicle is an electric one and start the charging process.

The price of the project is enormous, nearly $800 million. And the network of charging stations will be expanded as well to reach the rate of one station per 20 miles.
