From now on, with the help of the new feature Live for Mentions, actors, musicians, politicians and other famous people are given the opportunity to broadcast live video to their fans, and those users who are subscribed to their pages will keep track of them, comment streams and share favorite records with friends.

The innovation of Live is that archived videos will be published to the celebrity’s Facebook page, thus allowing followers who missed the live presentation to watch it later.

Facebook representatives expect the innovation to become another useful tool for famous people to communicate with their fans in the social network. At the moment live video broadcasting is available on the pages of Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, Martha Stewart, Serena Williams, Ricky Martin and Jamie Oliver.

Mobile Application Facebook Mentions was released in July 2014 and till now it allowed celebrities only to manage their accounts and track mentions of them in the network. The updated application is available in App Store in more than 40 countries.
