A new Music app was revealed by Apple lately. It is a combination of a streaming song and music video storage. It also includes an internet radio station. Artists can share there their unreleased songs and other works.

For those who can’t decide what to listen, there is a recommendation system. It uses human opinion, as well as computer program, to suggest you a song.

This application is aimed to rival Spotify, the main Apple’s opponent in music field, and Tidal. Apple also announced UK to be the first country to get Apple Pay service (except US, it already has this service available).

Chris Cook gave some comments on the matter:

A lot of people in the industry see the launch of the music service as a big deal, and their hope is that this will help take subscription-based streaming mainstream

Spotify is supported by adds to sell its premium subscription, while Apple has “unique selling point.”

Apple also presents the Beats 1 radio station. Its host is BBC’s former DJ Zane Lowe.

The application is connected to Siri service. You can ask her to find necessary song and play it. Even if you don’t know the name of the song but you know that it is a soundtrack of some movie, it won’t be difficult for Siri to find it.

All recommended lists will be created by music experts and algorithms will pick songs according to user’s history and playlist.

James McQuivey thinks that new Apple’s application will catch up Spotify’s subscribers within a year.
