Later this year Apple is going to bring out a new giant iPad that will overcome Microsoft’s 12-inch Surface Pro 3.
A director of Tablet and Monitor Research, Rhoda Alexander, at marketing research firm IHS Technology told FoxNews that they hope it to be part of the iPad renewal in October. In an email she wrote that the new iPad was indicated as 2015 product and was planned to go into production in the middle or at the end of the third quarter.
The new iPad is said to be 12.9 inches with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,920. That would be a bit less than the resolution of the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 but it will approach the screen of 13.3-inch MacBook’s screen. The iPad is said to come with other significant features. For example, it will probably come with stylus, but according to Alexander, IHS has not confirmed it yet.
Alexander also said that she didn’t think that the new iPad was a response to Microsoft’s 12-inch Surface Pro 3 tablet. President and chief analyst at marketing research firm TECHnalysis Research,Bob O’Donnell, told that only large tablets were growing and also stated that estimates on 2015 production of the new iPad are less than three million units.
Nobody knows what is the main Apple’s goal. First of all, their target market was said to be education. But now, it seems like their new aim is business. This is the market that Microsoft has targeted with Surface Pro 3 as its advertisements included reference to business apps. That may be a result of its huge size and due to its powerful Intel processor.
We still are not sure what processor Apple would choose but the company tends to use its most powerful A series processors in iPads.
Apple’s representatives haven’t responded yet to give any comments.
