On May 8 the two WNBA stars got married. Three weeks later both of them were arrested in Arizona because of domestic violence and quarrels. Griner got the possibility to have the charges wiped from her record after attending 26 weeks of counseling, while Johnson’s case pending, so she have to defense herself in a court or reach a plea agreement.

Johnson stated that she was the victim in the altercation, which costed the two players a suspension during the next seven games.

… So for them[police officials] to release a statement saying that we were both guilty in the situation, it’s not right. It’s not correct. … Brittney pled guilty … Brittney understands why I pled not guilty, and I understand why she pled guilty. … She was even willing to speak to whoever she needed to, to get the point across.

– admitted Johnson.

Just one day after Jonson’s announcement about her pregnancy on Instagram, it became known about Griner’s filling.

Being a professional athlete that plays year round, there is never a perfect time to get pregnant without putting my career on hold. The entire process, from learning our fertility options, to making sacrifices necessary nine months before the child is born, is merely preparing me to become a great wife and an even better mother.

– said Johnson in a statement. Besides, she would miss the 2015 WNBA season opened Friday night due to her pregnancy.
