Three friends, Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone didn’t waste time when they saw an armed man coming out of a toilet. The man was holding AK-47, automatic gun with and magazines of ammunition. Besides, as Le Monde reports, the gunman also had a box cutter and when the brave guys saw him, their reaction was immediate!

My friend Alek yells, ‘Get him!’ So my friend Spencer immediately gets up to charge the guy, followed by Alek, then myself

– claimed college student Sadler in the interview with CNN and then added about the even during those few minutes:

The three of us beat up the guy. In the process, Spencer gets slashed multiple times by the box cutter, and Alek takes the AK away.

His childhood friend Skarlatos also shared his memories of that terrifying train trip in the interview to Sky News:

Everybody just started beating the guy while Spencer held the chokehold until he went unconscious.

Stone had numerous injuries, but after undergoing hand surgery, his condition is completely okay.

Spencer Stone was stabbed in the neck and hand during the attack.

The caught gunman is believed to be the 26-year-old citizen of Morocco, who has been tied to radical Islam and had been flagged by Spanish government for that in 2014, as NBC News reported.

The US President Barack Obama has praised the three heroes for their bravery while they still have to meet with the French President Francois Hollande. He wants to thank these US citizens for possible saving lives of tens of people.

Sadler, Skarlatos and Stone was also praised with special medals for their extraordinary bravery.
