While the surfer Mick Fanning was trying to catch the wave, two huge sharks suddenly came towards him and attacked. They grabbed his surfing board and Fanning was lucky to escape their double jaws.
The rescuing team was not far from Fanning, so they immediately came to safe his life, grabbing him out of the water. The surfer was lucky to survive the incident unscathed.
That horrible attack was captured during the live broadcast.
After the face to face meeting with those deadly animals Mick Fanning gave a shaky interview.
I was just sitting there and then I felt something grab.
It just kept coming at my board and I just kept kicking and screaming. I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth to come at me as I was swimming. I punched it in the back.

After the sharks’ attack, the World Surf League cancelled the competition after the Fanning’s incident. The surfer received the second place and the prize money are going to be split between him and another surfer who was in the water at the same moment Julia Wilson.
