Withing a week the woman had sexual contact with two different men. The genetic test confirmed that a man from New Jersey is father, the second father is unknown man.

Superior Court Judge Sohail Mohammed stated that was the first case of such type in New Jersey but it was not the first incident in country.

The mother of 2-year-old twins went to court in order to get a child support for her children. The Passaic County Board of Social Services applied to perform a paternity test but the DNA test showed that the man is father of only one twin.

According to the documents, the name of the second man was not mentioned so workers could not establish the paternity for the second child.

DNA expert Dr. Karl-Hanz Wurzinger thinks that one in every 13,000 cases twins have different fathers. Twins with different fathers are rare phenomenon.

According to Eddleman, twins with different fathers are also known as bipaternal or heteropaternal. He also thinks that such phenomena are more common than we may think.

Nowadays scientists tend to believe that the number of such twins is much more bigger than it used to be 50 years ago due to promiscuity, reproductive technologies, ovulation induction, and other factors.

The father was ordered to pay $28 a week as a support for his child.
