Grilling is a part of our everyday life, especially during the summertime, when you get together with your friends and family and cook tasty and healthy food. What can be better than juicy burgers or chicken kebabs prepared on fire? Even fruit and vegetables get tastier after being grilled.

But the procedure of grilling may turn into a nightmare, if you don’t know some basic rules about it. Always keep in mind, that grilling can be rather dangerous.

So, here are some rules for the perfect grilling:

Rule №1. Do NOT cook on a dirty grill

Every time, after the cooking clean the grill with a brush or aluminum foil to remove the food and fat that left. No need for deep cleaning till it shines.

Rule №2. Use only right tools

You don’t need to have thousands of different tools to make your cooking on grill perfect. Make sure all your tools are long-handled, so that you can prevent burns. The next things you would definitely need, are a pair of tongs and a spatula. For cooking vegetables use a long-handled fork, but do not use it for meat: thus you will lose its juices.

Rule №3. Do NOT let your food stick to the grates

Pour some canola oil on the grill grates before each grilling. That will help you to avoid sticking food to the grates. Also, according to Rule№1, clean your grill regularly.

Rule №4. Do NOT use only direct heat to grill

If you want to prepare food correctly, you will need two types of heat: direct and indirect. The direct heat is when you cook on the open fire, indirect means you cook near it. In order to have these two types of heat, you need to spread the glowing charcoal briquettes into two distinct piles at different parts of the grill. That way, small pieces of food can be cooked with the indirect heat, and big ones on the direct.
