Giant New York advertisement is vandalized with a drone

An act of vandalism can be seen to anyone passing through Soho district in New York. But to a Banksy-esque anonymous street artist Katsu it is a kind of a premiere. This situation is the first sample of the “drone art” graffiti.

A drone was used to spray over a six-floor poster with Kendall Jenner on it.

An act of vandalism can be seen to anyone passing through Soho district in New York. But to a Banksy-esque anonymous street artist Katsu it is a kind of a premiere. This situation is the first sample of the “drone art” graffiti.

On Wednesday evening some red lines appeared on the face of Kendall Jenner, which now is one of the biggest Manhattan’s advertisements. As this huge poster on the corner of Houston and Lafayette streets cannot be easily reached by any human being even by climbing, someone has used a small drone to make it possible.

In the video we can see DJI Phantom Drone which is a type of small helicopter with four propellers. It can be bought via Internet or in some city’s shops. During the video it flies around the poster and sprays some paint onto the add.

Katsu told Wired magazine that it was exciting to see its first use as a thing to make vandalism over the city. Last year Katsu started using this type of mechanism – an attached to a drone spray can – to paint his canvases. Now Katsu predicts that this may be the begining of the new era of vandalism.

The thing the artist did was illegal, but somehow he succeeded to escape from the police.
