The man failed to get the speared fish out of the water, moreover, he lost his life in a fight between him and the creature.
Local authorities said that the died man was the captain of the fishing boat. While sailing on Friday, he noticed a swordfish in the sea and jumped into the water after it. People that witnessed the fight stated that the captain struck the swordfish first, but then the agonized creature stabbed him with its sharp beak.
People that were onboard the ship pulled the unconscious man aboard and provided him with the first medical help till they reached the shore and the captain was taken by an ambulance to the nearest hospital.
Officials didn’t reveal the name of the man yet, but the local news said that the late man was the 47-years-old Randy Lianes.
His sister said that he was a brave and a tough man and everyone around him were afraid of him.
But he had a big heart, so nobody close to him didn’t fear him.
– His sister, Kalina Lianes added later.
The killer fish also died in the fight, and local fishermen later examined her, and the creature appeared to be 3 feet long with her sharp beak another three feet long.
