This Sunday the USA celebrated the holiday, dedicated to the honor of military veterans, war prisoners and soldiers missing in action. The annual event started near Pentagon and moved over the memorial Bridge to the National Mall without any incidents everybody were so afraid of as a week earlier, nearly 170 bikers were arrested in Texas because of being involved in a fight that led to deaths of 9 people and 18 more injured.
This year the Memory Day united thousands of bikers, and organizers expected nearly a million bikers to be present at the event. Traditionally, they gather near the Pentagon building each year to honor American soldiers, who were participants in Afganistan, Iraqi and Iran wars. Also, many visited Korean and Vietnam Memorials while others peacefully relaxed in shade and drank beer.
Bikers aren’t here to start a fight
– said one of the participants.
The crowd met bikers on their all way and waved them, crying thankful phrases, addressed to veterans. Slogans like “Never forget” or “Thank you for our freedom” were heard all around.
This ride is a part of the activities that were planned this weekend, like “Blessing the bikes” outside the local cathedral or the barbecue that continued all day long.
