The 45-years-old artist, Robin Lee was detained by the police for charging his phone through the electric system of the London Subway.

The man was travelling back home after the visit to his friend.

This is the stupidest arrest I’ve ever seen

– said Robin.

The artist was taken to the nearest police department just to be written a paper on and set free.

The artist said that the police officers that deterred him were very hostile and it seemed to him that they had nothing to do and were simply looking for trouble. The official reason for detaining the artist, according to the arrest protocol was the ‘abstracting electricity’.

Such a crime really exists due to the 1968 act and means using electrical power without permission. The punishment for breaking this law is 5 years in prison maximum.

But there was another charge brought against Lee, the ‘unacceptable behavior’ that has a maximum punishment of a 1,000 pounds fine. But the respective service hasn’t decided yet what to do on this charge.

Also, one more man was arrested on the suspicion of stealing electricity but let free a while later.
