Patimat Suleimanova couldn’t cope with her emotions. As she was constantly crying, she could only answer questions about her name, birth date and the place she was born. After that, judge asked to call another witness and gave the aunt an opportunity to calm herself down. After she left, the bomber used his tissue to wipe eyes and nose. Ms Suleimanova is the only family member who is present in Boston to give evidence for the defense of Dzhokhar while his lawyers are trying their best to convince the judge that Dzhokhar should be sentenced to life.

On Monday, Raisat Suleimanova, bomber’s cousin, said that he was a very kind and warm child. She also showed the jury a picture where Tamerlan, Tsarnaev’s brother, carried him on his shoulder.

Cousin Naida Suleimanova said that Dzhokhar really loved his brother. She also said that their family had a custom to listen to their older siblings.

The defense assured the jury that Tsarnaev was under his older brother’s influence to carry out those attacks. A 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev died at the scene when his younger brother accidentally ran him over with a car.

As a result of explosions which occurred 15 April 2013, 3 people died and 264 were injured. Dzhokhar was convicted on 30 federal charges.
