John Kerry was hospitalized in Switzerland and was said to be in a stable condition after suffering broken leg in bicycle crash.

On Sunday the US Secretary of State was taken to hospital with broken right femur due to the bicycle accident in the French Alps. The 71-year-old was hospitalized by helicopter to a Swiss hospital in Geneva immediately after the fatal accident.

However, he was officially said to be stable and conscious, while his injury appeared to be not life-threatening. The State Department also announced that he is expected a full recovery and soon is to return to Boston, where he will be able to receive appropriate medical treatment.

Besides, previously he suffered hip surgery, so he is going to seek treatment with the same doctor from Massachusetts General Hospital, according to the State Department. They also added that was very grateful to the French and Swiss doctors and authorities as well for helping him after the bicycle crash. Kerry, who cycles during diplomatic trips at times, seems to be in a good spirit after that accident in Swiss, which he visited as a part of his trip to Europe.

Mr Kerry had talks with Mohammad Javad Zarif, his counterpart from Iran, on Saturday after several attempts to perform the nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers month ago. However, a very little progress was made, because the both sides still had some differences.

The following day, Mr Kerry had to fly to Madrid and have some talks with Spanish king and its prime minister, while on Monday he was supposed to visit Paris conference about the methods of fighting with ISIS, also known as ISIL.

The State Department announced that Kerry was very regret about missed trip to Spain and France, where he had to discuss a range of issues, concerning ISIL, so at the further counter-ISIL coalition meeting he was going to participate remotely.
