During the 82 birthday, Don Young, the longest-serving Republican congressman in U.S. gets married.

A representative of the politician said that on Tuesday Young married a 76-year-old Anne Garland Walton. The occasion was a private ceremony in U.S. Capitol chapel.

Both Young and Walton were widowed before getting married. Lu, Young’s wife, died in 2009. Anne Walton was introduced as Young’s fiancee during an Anchorage church event.

This autumn, Don Young was elected for his 22nd term as a congressman.

In the statement about celebrating his birthday Young said that his new wife, Anne, had given him the “best gift anyone could ask for”.

Neither Don, nor Anne thought they would love again. But, according to Young, you never know what to expect from your life.
