The photo of the man, selling pens and holding his sleeping daughter a the same time quickly went viral and conquered hearts of many.

The man became known to publicity when one activist, Gissur Simonarson posted a picture of a father, selling pens on the Beirut streets with his child dreaming on his shoulder. The picture quickly got more than 6,000 followers.

– said Gissur.

After the photo became viral, people from all over the world sent offers to help the poor father to Simonarson. But he didn’t knew who was the man on the photo, so he started searching. And in 2 days he found who was the man.

The man on the photo appeared to be the 35-years-old Abdul holding his 4-years-old daughter Roem.

After the man was found, Gissur started a campaign to help the man. At first he set the goal to $5,000 that was achieved in the nearest half an hour. Moreover, after 24 hours and $3,000 people taking part in the campaign, the sum grew up to enormous $80,000.

When the lonely father heard the number, he fell down on his knees and started crying. He shared his plans for the future and said that thanks to these money, his two children can finally get the school education.

He also said that he wants to help other people who got affected by the war in Syria.
