John Lahiff, a 75-year-old golfer got wounded while playing golf at a tourist resort in Australia.

The old player admitted that it was partly his fault that he got a leg injury. Because it was his inattention and his ball that fell into the water and disturbed the frightful reptile that was taking a rest at that time.

John ended in the hospital with puncture wounds on the calf of his right leg made by the four-foot saltwater crocodile. The accident happened at the Palmer Sea Reef Golf club – said the police. Lahiff said that he was too negligent and should have payed attention to the crocodiles he had seen while searching for the ill-fated ball and should have been more careful.

He was assaulted while getting the ball from the trap at the eleventh hole. “I drove my cart to the water trap to get the ball and I haven’t seen the crocodile resting on the edge of the water. After biting me, the crocodile quickly got away” – added Lahiff.

Upon getting injured, Lahiff drove his cart back to the club house, where he called the medics. “They told me that I was lucky that no artery had been torn apart. I am playing here thrice a week and I will return here as soon as I can” – Lahiff said.

The Department of Environment will try and catch the reptile and as it is protected by the Australian law, it will be moved to the crocodile farm or a zoo. The owner of the resort facility wished Lahiff a “fast convalescence”.
