Famous Trouble singer apologizes to Nicki Minaj on Twitter.

On Thursday, Taylor Swift wrote on her Twitter account: “I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki.” And Minaj didn’t delay, she immediately replied: “That means so much Taylor, thank you.”

Earlier this week Minaj complained that her Anaconda single wasn’t chosen for the year category at MTV Video Music Awards. However, it was nominated for the best hip-hop video.

Nicki Minaj has 3 VMA nominations and Taylor Swift has 9. Thus, Minaj stated on her Twitter that modern music industry biases black women and prefers slim singers. She wrote: “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”

Swift, who has the biggest amount of nominations and a really slim body, replied: “I’ve done nothing but love and support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

Right after that, Minaj said she just wanted to point out black women and their influence in pop culture. She didn’t mean to insult slim singers. On Thursday, Anaconda singer said about the whole incident:

I’ve always loved her. Everyone makes mistakes. She gained so much more respect from me. Let’s move on

Katty Perry entered the discussion, supporting Minaj.

The ceremony is to be hosted by Miley Cyrus in Los Angeles on 30 August.
