A US judge has claimed that a case about 50 Cent’s sex tape can proceed further despite rapper’s bankruptcy!
A jury from New York ruled last week that Lastonia Leviston, the one who sued 50 Cent, would get $5 m of compensation.
Rapper’s real name is Curtis Jackson III. According to the jury, he didn’t have a permission to post the video of sexual contact between Leviston and her boyfriend online. Thus, jury had to think about the amount of the compensation last Monday.
However, famous rapper filled for bankruptcy that day and delayed the court case. The judge thinks that the rapper did that to avoid testifying.
Philip Freidin, Leviston’s lawyer, is pleased that the case will be proceeded on Monday. After 50 Cent filled for bankruptcy, his creditors were revealed.
Star has a lot of debts, including debt for his mansion of $5,649, $137,880 for a lease on a Bentley. In addition to this, he owes about $1,737 to his grandfather and $18.4 m as an arbitration award to Sleek Audio.
The total amount of his debts is $28.5 m, though he claims he has only $24.5 m.
In May, Forbes said that he had approximately $155 m due to the fact that Vitaminwater was sold to Coca Cola in 2007. 50 Cent was an investor of that brand.
