Also, it is confirmed that Simon West, the director of Con Air and Expandables 2 will stand at the helm of the production of The Blob remake. Recent news said that the famous actor, Samuel L. Jackson’s fans know, from his previous works, that Jacksons character isn’t likely to be afraid and forbear some alien creature.

The original 1958 movie is about a small town in Pensylvania that is being terrorized by a huge shapeless alien creature, that came from outer space on a meteorite. One may joke, that the creature is being found by kind-hearted kids who teach him good stuff. But, the reality is much more prosaic as the creature simply eats everyone and grows bigger with every new victim in his stomach. And Samuel is planning to personate a professor that tries to stop the alien.

As for West, he intends to make his movie more sci-fi, just like Jurassic Park or the Alien and Predator movies. Also the movie will have more science moments as it will be clear from where the alien appeared and how it lives.

It will be more a monster movie, rather than a horror one

– said West.
