Recently, famous American singer claimed that he wanted to win his ex-wife Paula Patton back. Now, 38-year-old singer says he feels ’embarrassed’ by his great overtures. In his interview to The New York Times, Thicke mentioned 2014 BET Awards, when he dedicated his song “Forever Love” to Paula. After the performance, he encountered hundreds of critics who brutally scrutinized his appearance.

Robin recalls that his 20-year-old best-friend Craig Crawford came up to him and said:

I gotta be honest with you, buddy. You’re kind of playing yourself. You look like a sucker

After that Robin realized that this dedication was really embarrassing. He cancelled all his deals to spend more time with his son and family.

And the more time I took off, the more everything became clear

Singer’s 2014 album Paula was a disaster. His team and colleagues even didn’t want to release it. But Robin has a justification for himself:

Look, my songwriting has always been autobiographical, and always will be. The ‘Paula’ album was no different. I was struggling through my toughest time, and I decided to share it. … In hindsight, the only thing I would have done differently was, I wouldn’t have promoted it or sold it. I would have given it away. That would have kept the purity of the message intact

In this interview, Thicke also admitted that he was drug and alcohol addict.
