Famous American actress Mary Ellen Trainor died. She starred such films as The Goonies and Lethal Weapon.

The actress was best known for her role of Irene Walsh, the mother in The Goonies, and Dr Stephanie Woods, a psychotherapist in four parts of Lethal Weapon movies.

She had a 20-year long marriage with director Robert Zemeckis. Trainor also appeared in some of movies, like Forrest Gump and Back to the Future Part II, directed by her husband.

Last month she got some complications due to pancreatic cancer and passed away.

Mary Ellen started her career as a producer’s assistant on movies. She assisted Steven Spielberg’s film 1941, which was written by Zemeckis.

The next year Trainor married Zemeckis. Right after the marriage in 1984 she got a role of the kidnapped sister in Romancing the Stone movie.

During 1980s she starred Die Hard, Scrooged and Ghostbusters II. The actress also took part in such TV series as Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, the Relativity and Roswell.

Her lifelong close friend Kathleen Kennedy said that thanks to her friend she started her career as an actress. Kathleen and Mary Ellen were close since the college times, as they shared a room. Trainor introduced Kennedy to Steven Spielberg.

She was a great actress, warm friend and generous spirit
