Famous American singer Katy Perry is involved in a controversy with elderly nuns, who don’t want to sell her a hilltop convent in Los Angeles.

Famous American singer Katy Perry is involved in a controversy with elderly nuns, who don’t want to sell her a hilltop convent in Los Angeles. 

The Teenage Dream singer is also named in a lawsuit over buying the beautiful place with a view on Hollywood. The whole dispute is about who has the right to sell the convent.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary sisters claim that the convent is their property. They also assured everyone that they had already sold the building to a local restaurateur, Dana Hollister, who already moved in.

However, the Los Angeles Archdiocese doesn’t think those nuns own the convent as it plans to sell it to Perry for $14.5m. The archdiocese takes all measures to prevent Ms Hollister from having control over the convent as the sale was not legal.

It is said Ms Hollister have already paid $15.5m for the convent. She wants to turn it into a bar and restaurant.

Sister Rita Callanan told the LA Times that she didn’t want Katy Perry to buy the convent because her songs are very provocative and her clothes are always obscene.

Katy Perry’s father is а pastor. Last week she was named the highest earning female singer. Her last year income is $135m.
