That huge success made it only the second after The Avengers, which made $100m in two separate weekends.

However, the new Pixar’s animation Inside Out appeared to be at the second place in the US box office top 10 with $91m. Despite the obvious success of Inside Out, in which the story develops largely in the imagination of a young girl, it broke the perfect Pixar’s run at the top of the charts. All previous pictures of the company, starting with the Toy Story in 1995, were holding the first positions.

Besides, a vice president of BoxOffice.com Phil Contrino stated that Inside Out would have number one in any other weekend as the competition with Jurassic World was too severe for the new animation. He also added that it doesn’t matter as being number one is actually overrated and reminded that Frozen had also debuted at number two, before becoming the biggest animated release in the history of Disney with taking globally more than $1.3bn.

Talking about Inside Out, which tells the story of a girl and her inner turmoil, the critics admitted then it has a quite powerful and thought-provoking script. The main characters there are the emotions, which live in the girl’s mind – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust.

However, the roaring leader is Jurassic World that also broke another record, becoming the most successful among other franchise’s movies. It earned $398m in two weeks, while the original 1993s Jurassic Park made only  $357m.

The US box office top 10:
Jurassic World – $102m
Inside Out – $91m
Spy – $10.5m
San Andreas – $8.2m
Dope – $6m
Insidious: Chapter 3 – $4.1m
Pitch Perfect 2 – $3.3m
Mad Max: Fury Road – $2.8m
Avengers: Age of Ultron – $2.7m
Tomorrowland – $2m
