The creator of Games of Thrones thinks that hiding the truth about rapes that occurred during the long wars in past is ‘dishonest’.

Frequent rape scenes in the popular series Game of Thrones led to a boycott from some viewers. However, the author thinks that pretending rapes that didn’t exist is “fundamentally dishonest”.

George R R Martin told Entertainment Weekly that he wanted to show struggle as all drama is based on conflict. He thinks that utopian books are boring. The Middle Ages world he created in Games of Thrones is patriarchal and brutal.

Rape, unfortunately, is still a part of war today

Martin also said that rape is not an indicator for human race but it does exist. And it is not correct to close eyes on it. Mexican writer mentioned that millions of women are in love with Games of Thrones.

Last month the scene where Sansa Stark was raped by her husband Ramsay Bolton shocked US senator and she threatened to boycott the series.
