Last Eastwood’s work, film American Sniper, was a great success. With Bradley Cooper in main role, the film raised $543.4m. It was also considered to be the most prosperous movie in USA in 2014.

The main hero of the new project, Sullenberger said:

I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood

The film will tell us the detailed story of the plain crash, which was caused by birds that flew into the plane’s engine. It will also show Sullenberger’s emotions and personal drama on January 15, 2009.

After the accident, the pilot wrote his own book Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters. It contained a lot of pilot’s biography fact before that fatal day.

His pilot career lasted for 30 years. In 2010 he retired from the job and started campaigning for increasing flight safety.

A president of creative development and worldwide production at Warner Bros Greg Silverman said that Clint Eastwood was the best for directing this film. He also added that everyone was excited to see how the master of film-making would explore the story of another hero after American Sniper.
