Two lovers were not pleased about their appearance on a fictional novel about a famous American football player.
John and Jane Roe from Ohio are suing the author of the book Lacey Noonan and Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Apple for containing this e-book at their stores. The name of the book is ‘A Gronking to Remember’.
The book was named after a particular Rob Gronkowski’s movement which he often uses in games while playing in the New England Patriots team.
Soon after the publishing of the book, Gronkowski was invited to take part in Jimmy Kimmel’s talk in February. There he had an opportunity to read an extract from the novel.
The couple called this book which consists of just 66 pages “less that tasteful” and “offensive”. They also claimed that the fact that their photo appeared on the book’s cover made them be an object of deriding. During the Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show, the book was shown as a source of obscene humor.
The Hollywood reporter says that the case will be given to the federal court where it will test the 1996 Communication Decency Act. There they are going to determine whether any e-book provider can be regarded as the publisher for self-published books which use its service.
