The house consists of 7 bedrooms. It is situated in Long Island, where Fitzgerald wrote bigger part of his famous novel.

From 1922 until 1924, writer and his wife Zelda lived in the New York hinterlands. The author is said to have finished “The Great Gatsby” after moving to France, where he wrote his following novel “Tender is the Night”.

The price for the Mediterranean-style home, which is located in Great Neck Estates, according to a spokeswoman for the estate agency, is approximately $3.8m. The current owner is not identified.

An inspiration for “The Great Gatsby”, the novel that described the Jazz Age, came to Fitzgerald while he was living among Long Island’s glitterati.

The main character in the book is a mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby. He owns a huge residence in the imaginary town of West Egg on flourishing Long Island in summer 1922.

As this area was full of luxurious mansions, some of them became an inspiration for the mansion of Gatsby. The mansions like Oheka Castle and Beacon Towers, which are destroyed now. Fitzgerald’s own house was never a source of inspiration for the writer.
