On Sunday night, a concert of Summer Jam became uncontrollable. Police in riot gear tried to calm all fans down.

Authorities say that the fight began when big crowds of fans tried to enter the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where Summer Jam concert took place.

New Jersey State Police said that crowds climbed on fences in order to get illegally into the concert hall. Other part of people was trying to forcefully enter the stadium through security personnel.

According to Sgt. Gregory Williams, those who were already trying to rein the crowds in asked for extra help. Law enforcement arrived in riot gear.

We have the riot gear all the time and we were ready in case something was to happen and we had to use it

One of the fans, Jerry Arnold, bought a ticket for the concert and he didn’t manage to get in as it took too much time to pass through security guards. Thus, many of the spectators got angry.

Security was being extremely slow, and people were waiting to be let in. I had a ticket. Everyone had ticket, but security was being very slow and everyone got agitated

In attempts to calm the crowd down, police officers used mace. That increased the chaos immediately and the concert was greatly delayed.

The concert started at 6 p.m. At 9 p.m. people were still trying to get in.

The fight began when people pushed the metal fence. While one part of them was doing that, the other threw bottles into security.

Some people were forced to leave the concert without even getting in as the situation was quite dangerous.

Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Chris Brown and Trey Songz were performing that night.
