Dave Goldberg, a Silicon Valley magnate and a chairman of SurveyMonkey, died after a serious head injury. A 47-year-old Mr Goldberg, who was married to Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, was discovered lying near a gym treadmill at Four Seasons resort in Mexico on Friday.

The local Mexican authorities stated that they had no plans for starting a criminal investigation. As the officials claimed, Goldberg had been alive when he was founded, but severe trauma caused his death later at a hospital.

Goldberg’s family members started worrying and went to look for him, since his absence lasted quite long. He reported them about going exercising and left his room in the resort near Nuevo Vallarta at 16:00 local time. Later, about 18:30, Dave was founded next to treadmill in the gym with a wound on the lover back of his head.

A Nayarit state prosecutor supposed that apparently he had slipped on the treadmill and bumped into the machine.

Mr Goldberg, a Harvard University graduate, entered into SurveyMonkey in April 2009. Formerly he was an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and executive of technology and music industry as well.

In 1996 he was one of the first who founded first online music services, which called Launch Media and was the chairman of the company until its acquirement by Yahoo in 2001.

Later Mr Goldberg obtained the post of Yahoo Music vice-president and general manager, where he controlled all the global music operations of the company. Since 2007 till 2009, when Goldberg joined SurveyMonkey, he had been working with venture capitalists Benchmark Capital.
